Welcome to The Everyday Brief
Practical AI, ML & data science, every week — here's your first issue.
July 12, 2026
Welcome — and thank you for being here for the very first issue. Every week, The Everyday Brief brings you a few useful things from across AI, machine learning, and data science, written for people who actually build. Here's what that looks like.
Cheat sheet of the week
This week's save: Agentic Design Patterns — tool use, planning, reflection, and multi-agent coordination, the building blocks behind reliable AI agents, on a single page.
One practical tip
When an LLM call is expensive, cache the stable part of your prompt. Anthropic and OpenAI both let you mark a fixed prefix (a long system prompt, a big rulebook) as cacheable — so repeated calls only pay full price for the part that actually changes. On long prompts it cuts both cost and latency noticeably.

The Agent Revolution Is Here — and Most Organizations Are Not Ready. Why AI agents are moving from demo to production, and what teams consistently underestimate when they get there.
Africa AI
How Rwanda Is Building a Sovereign AI Cloud for the Continent — infrastructure designed for African contexts rather than imported for them, and why that distinction matters.
One opportunity
We keep a running board of vetted AI and data roles — screened for quality, not volume. See what's open this week.
